IOLA L. HOLLAND

DUDLEY -- Iola Lucille Alford Holland, 74, passed away Saturday afternoon at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Holland's life will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Louis S. Leigh presiding. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Holland was born in Columbus County on June 12, 1934, to the late Nathaniel Alford and Iolia Hart Alford. She was a retired social worker with the Department of Social Services, having worked for 18 years. Mrs. Holland was a member of First African Baptist Church.
Mrs. Holland is survived by her daughter, Angela Holland of Dudley; her son, Gregory Holland of Newark, N.J.; her sister, Nellie Chambers of South Boston, Va.; her brother, Henry Alford of Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren, including Shaunte' Ekpo-Out, Kalif Lewis, Felicia Goode and Codie Holland; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William C. Holland Jr.; five sisters and one brother.
