Rev. John M. Roberts, 81, Hope Mills, former pastor at Princeton United Methodist Church, died on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Princeton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jean Hood and the Rev. Percy Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Rev. Roberts served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lee Coley Roberts and his sister, Louise Blackmon.
Surviving are: a daughter, Lori Roberts Temple, of Hope Mills; a son, Dr. John M. Roberts Jr., of Clinton; brothers, Fred Roberts, of Snow Hill and Robert Roberts of Mount Olive; sister, Frances Herring, of Charlotte; and grandchildren, Amber and Rachel Temple.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton tonight from 6 to 8.
