DOROTHY HOOD BRYAN

Dorothy Hood Bryan, 80, passed away on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neal Wingfield officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Dorothy was born in Wayne County on Jan. 31, 1928, to the late Thomas Jordan Hood and Hazel Seymour Hood. She was married to the late James Edward Bryan. Dorothy was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and an active member of the Salem Joy Club.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Lou Ann B. Smith and husband, Marshall, of Goldsboro and Lynette B. Worrell and husband, Timmy, of Goldsboro; her granddaughter, Meredith Smith McElmurry and husband, Nathan, of Corona Del Mar, Calif.; her sisters-in-law, Mildred Radford and husband, Russell, of Goldsboro and Betty Bryan Owens of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special cousin, George Peacock and special friends, Glennie and Leroy Worrell.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Edward Bryan and her sister, Ann Hunt.

The family will receive friends Monday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at their homes.
