WAYNE ROSE

Johnny Wayne Rose, 59, passed away early on Saturday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
A service to celebrate Wayne's life will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. Jimmy Whitfield and Bill Rose officiating. Military honors will be rendered.
Wayne was born in Wayne County on Dec. 28, 1948, to the late George Brantley Rose and Lois Christine Frye Rose. He had worked with Southco Distributing for 37 years, beginning his career as truck driver, then as a salesman, then as a set-up supervisor and retiring as a warehouse supervisor.
Wayne was a member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church and had served his country in the United States Army. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.
Wayne is survived by his devoted wife, Helen Calhoun Rose; his son, Timothy Wayne Rose of Goldsboro; his daughter, Tina Rose Hare of Goldsboro; his granddaughters, Taylor Nicole Rose and Kayla Michelle Hare; his great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Rose; his brother, Larry A. Rose of Utah; and his sisters, JoAnn Sawkiw and Faye R. Pate, both of Goldsboro.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Rose and Doug Rose.
Flowers are welcome, or memorials in Wayne's memory may be given for Cancer Research in care of the American Cancer Society, 930 B. Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C. 27834.
The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service at the church and other times at his home, 101 Lindsey St., Goldsboro.
