KINSTON -- Betty Faye Williams Lanier Guthrie, 74, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday.
The family will receive visitors from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at Howard-Carter Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 2703 Dogwood Lane, Kinston. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with pastor Tim Lanier and the Rev. Allen Ham officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Guthrie was born in Lenoir County on Aug. 6, 1934, to the late Lawson and Mattie Fisher Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Ray Williams.
Mrs. Guthrie was a licensed practical nurse with Howell's Child Care and a member of Tanglewood Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Guthrie of the home; daughter, Angela Lanier Woodall and husband Jim of Kinston; son, Richard Lanier and wife Christy of Goldsboro; brother, Willie E. Pierce Jr. of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Angela Renee Sloan, Jimmy Daniel Woodall, Christopher Allen Lanier, Melissa Dawn Holt, Jennifer Leigh Jenkins, and Brett Jackson Lanier; and step-children, John R. Guthrie and Ricky L. Guthrie Sr.
