David Bryan McKnight, 50, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Adamsville Baptist Church with the Revs. Todd Wiggins and Ray Smeltzer officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
David was born in Sumter, S.C. on Aug. 8, 1958 to Andrew McKnight and Juanita Higgins McKnight. He worked in electrical maintenance with APV Baker in Goldsboro. David was a member of Adamsville Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, David is survived by his loving wife, Susan Watts McKnight; his sons, Daniel Bryan McKnight and fiancée, Karen Taylor, of Raleigh and Michael David McKnight of Goldsboro; his sister, Debbie Smith of LaGrange; his brother and sister-in-law, Doyle and Kelly McKnight of Goldsboro; and three nephews, Sam Smith, Ben Smith and Drew McKnight. He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Randy and Betty Watts of Goldsboro; and his sister-in-law, Sandy Watts of Wagener, S.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 930 B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C. 27834, Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534 or Adamsville Baptist Church, 1302 N. Berkeley Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
The family will receive friends Sunday at Seymour Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at his home.
