FAISON -- Mr. James Clarence Cottle Jr., 83, 432 S.W. Center St., died Wednesday at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday at Faison United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michelle Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Faison Cemetery.
Mr. Cottle, a native of Duplin County, was the son of the late James Clarence Cottle and Nettie Carroll Cottle. He was also predeceased by four brothers, Lee, Tommy, Bobby, and John Cottle. He was a member of Faison United Methodist Church and worked at the Faison Fruit and Vegetable Exchange and with the tobacco market.
Surviving him are his wife of 62 years, Elva Darden Cottle of the home; two daughters, Doris Kirby and Laura Walter and husband Mike; two grandsons, Scott Lane and John Michael Walter; great-granddaughter, Miranda Lane; sister, Mary Dallas Sutton; two brothers, Ned Cottle and wife Janet, and Will Cottle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the home.
