EARL NEWSOME

Edward Earl Newsome, 70, passed away Monday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be tonight at 7 p.m. at the United In Christ Church, on Patetown Road, with Rev. Ira Williford officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Earl was born in Wayne County on July 29, 1938, to the late Noah Newsome and Irene Smith Newsome. He was retired from Daniels and Daniels Construction with over 40 years of service. Earl was a faithful member of the United In Christ Church.
Earl is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Edna Grant Newsome; his daughter, Wanda Wilson and husband, Joe of Goldsboro; his son, Scott Newsome and wife, Annetta of LaGrange; and his grandchildren, Tracy Thomas and husband, Ben and Brooke Newsome. He is also survived by his faithful K-9 friend, Boots.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Kitty Askins Hospice Center and the staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital for the loving care they gave to Earl. May God bless each of you in a special way.

The family will receive friends tonight following the service and other times at his home, 205 S. Douglas Street, Goldsboro.
