Died July 21, 2008
WILSON -- William Widmire Lewis, 78, died Monday.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Daniels Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
William, a native of Eureka, was educated at ACC and ECU in the field of education. He was a teacher, coach and principal at different times at Eureka, Lee Woodard and Beddingfield schools. He was honored to serve a term in the House of Representatives in the General Assembly. For his country, he served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving him are his wife of 55 years, Sarah Tart Lewis; sons, Clay Lewis and Gail of Wilson and Jim Lewis and Debbie of Lucama; niece, Vickie Lane of Goldsboro and nephew, Chuck Lane of Eureka; grandchildren, Tracy Galezzzi and Joey, Greg and Alex Lewis.
The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, Tuesday, 7 to 8 p.m.

Arrangements are being handled by Wilson Memorial Service.
