PASTOR ANNA 'JEAN' ATKINSON

LAGRANGE -- Pastor Anna "Jean" Atkinson, 53, lovingly known by her church family and friends as "Pastor Jean Atkinson," 1044 Gray Turnage Road, died Monday, June 2, 2008, at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Love Temple United Holiness Church, 201 Oak Forest Road, Goldsboro, N.C., with Bishop Ralph Love officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mill Cemetery, 3618 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, N.C.
Pastor Jean Atkinson was born June 26, 1954, in Greene County to James E. and Lillie Mae Wooten of Snow Hill, N.C.
Pastor Atkinson was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Mae Wooten, and her granddaughter, Jacinda J. McPhail.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory a father, James E. Wooten; a husband, James E. Atkinson; a son, Quinton E. Wooten (Sharon); a daughter, Patrina A. Atkinson (Tyrone) of Snow Hill, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Linette Wade and Connie Holmes (Juan) both of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, Shaniece Braswell, Kwanella McPhail, Antonio T. McPhail Jr. (T.J.) and Rhontia Johnson all of Snow Hill, N.C.; six stepgrandchildren all of Goldsboro, N.C.; three great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Minister Bertha Hardy (James) of Goldsboro and Deborah Williams (Silvester); four brothers, James Wooten, Jr. (Duan) of Temple Hills, Md., Robert Wooten of Snow Hill, Minister Thurman Wooten (Minister Mary) of Snow Hill and Pastor Nathan Darden (Patricia) of Greenville, N.C.; one sister-in-law, Pastor Annie Wade (Curtis); one brother-in- law, Joseph Atkinson (Pastor Shirley) of Goldsboro, N.C.; two uncles; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be conducted Friday, June 6, 2008, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C.
Also, a wake will be held Friday, June 6, 2008, at Holy Temple Miracle Tabernacle, 524 Guthric Turner Road, Snow Hill, N.C., 28580, from
6 to 8 p.m. with the family in attendance to receive other family members and friends.
