RICHARD J. OVERTON III

Chief Master Sgt. Richard James Overton III, retired U.S.A.F., 77, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Richard was born in Mecklenburg County to the late Richard James Overton Jr. and Velma Skidmore Overton. He retired from the U.S. Air Force with 27 years of service. Following his military career, Richard worked with Kemp Furniture.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating.
Richard is survived by his wife, June Neugent Overton; his daughters, Debbie O. Richardson and husband, Ed, of Fuquay-Varina, Kay O. Casey and husband, Ralph, of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside service on Friday at Seymour Funeral Home.
