NORMA H. THOMPSON
April 7, 1935-April 16, 2008
Norma Herring Thompson, 73, died Wednesday at her home.
Norma was born in Wayne County to the late Norman Herring and Ada Martin Herring. She was married to the late James Oscar Thompson. Norma was a retired telephone operator with Southern Bell Telephone Company. She was also retired from Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Pikeville Cemetery with the Rev. Rex Evans officiating.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Lisa Bailey and husband, Dwayne, of Pikeville; her grandchildren, Jeremy Thompson, Reagan Bailey, Connor Bailey; her sisters, Lois Fleming of Pikeville, Janice Harrison and husband, Marcellus, of Goldsboro, Hilda Hill of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
