ANNIE BELLE WATERS WILLIAMS

GREENSBORO -- Annie Belle Waters Williams, 88, was led by angels to be with her heavenly father and loved ones while surrounded by her family on Tuesday. She was a resident of Blumenthal Jewish Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of the late Granger Williams with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. Their home was in Deep Run. She was born in Lenoir County to the late Johnnie Smith Waters and Pearl Barwick Waters.
Annie Belle was a member of Deep Run Free Will Baptist Church since 1944. She retired from Albain Company in 1981. She was an avid Tarheel basketball fan, enjoyed sewing, reading and spending time with her family who lovingly called her "GrannieBelle." She was a lifelong lover of animals, including her black toy poodle, Bridgette.
Surviving are her daughter, Grace Williams Jenkins; grandsons, Gregory Jenkins and wife, Mary, of Greensboro, Granger Bryan Jenkins of McLeansville, Scott Jenkins and wife, Karen, of Thomasville; great-grandchildren, Tina Rosanne, Jessica Ann and Jennifer Grace Jenkins, all of Greensboro.
Family visitation will be held at 1 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2008, at Garner Funeral Home in Kinston, N.C. Interment will be in the Williams Family Cemetery at Grants Chapel Church in Mount Olive, N.C. The Rev. Buddy Sasser will be officiating.
