FREMONT -- Matthew "Bud" Coley Sr., 78, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Bud" of 2042 Memorial Church Road, died on Monday at his residence.
"Bud" is survived by his wife, Vivian T. Edmondson Coley; his children, Vickki Coley-Beltran of Fayetteville, Ga., Matthew B. Coley Jr., Angela Coley-Newsome and Linda Coley-Smith of Fremont, N.C., Anthony J. Coley of College Park, Ga., Rodney E. Coley of Pikeville, N.C., La-Rephia Coley-Jackson of Alexandria, Va.; one brother, Mack Whitley; six sisters, Dardress Jones of Portsmouth, Va., Alice of Ohio, Geraldine of New Jersey, Connie and Linda of Greensboro, N.C., Hannah of Clinton, N.C., Mattie of Wilson, N.C.; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and a special friend, Russell Williams of Pikeville, N.C.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at 1 p.m. from the Greater Morning Star Holiness Church, 705 S. Sycamore St., Fremont, N.C. with Elder Johnnie Sherrod officiating. Burial will follow in the Turner Swamp Cemetery, Eureka, N.C. A viewing will be conducted on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C. from 1 to 8 p.m. Also, a wake will be held at Hamilton Funeral Chapel from 7 to 8 p.m. with the family present to receive other family members and friends.
