Willie Monroe Biggs Jr., 91, of 302 Vera Ave., formerly of Wallace, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro. Born in Cheraw, S.C., Mr. Biggs was the son of the late William Sr. and Eva Kimrey Biggs. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Moon Biggs.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, from Wallace United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Benjamin Wells and the Rev. Claude Wilson. Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Lucas of Goldsboro; one son, Monty Biggs of Key Largo, Fla.; two sisters, Eva Mae Pennington of Hartsville, S.C., Betty Martin of Pawley's Island, S.C.; one brother, Marion Biggs of Newberry, S.C.; one granddaughter, Alicia Lucas of Holly Springs; one grandson, Jeremy Lucas of Goldsboro; and one great-grandson, Jerry Lucas of Goldsboro.
The family will receive at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Padgett Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the Biggs family.
