BERNARD CHARLES MCINTEE

Bernard Charles McIntee, 84, died peacefully in the company of his family at Wayne Memorial Hospital on Tuesday.
Born in Yonkers, N.Y., to the late John McIntee and Irene Hickey McIntee, he was long-time resident of Newark, N.J. Bernard proudly served his country in Europe and the Pacific during World War II as a Pharmacist's Mate First Class in the U.S. Navy, after which he graduated from Fairliegh-Dickinson College. Bernard had been employed by Western Electric for 40 years as a radiographer at the Kearny Works. He was a life member and past-president (N.J. Chapter) of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the worlds' largest corporate volunteer organization. Bernard had been very involved with the Boy Scouts of America and the Holy Name Society.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Tom Norris, O.S.F.S. officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
Bernard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Maryelizabeth "Betty" McIntee; his sons, David McIntee and wife, Diane, of Hillsborough, Brian McIntee and wife, Annette, of North Potomac, Md.; his daughter, Eileen Kerlin and husband, Dr. Kevin Kerlin, of Goldsboro; his sister, Josephine McGrath of New Jersey; his brother, John McIntee of New Jersey; and seven grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 1000 N. Jefferson Ave., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
