JAMES 'JUNIOR' FIELDS JR.
On Dec. 15, 2007, God decided to give Junior Fields his halo and he peacefully and gracefully winged his way home to heaven.
Junior was born June 26, 1955, to Mary and James Fields of the Grantham community, where he was raised. He was blessed with four brothers and three sisters. Junior moved fast in life, graduating from Southern Wayne High School, going to work and marrying his loving and faithful wife of 32 years, Kay Sutton Fields. Five years later, Kay and Junior were blessed with their only child, their precious daughter, Jessica. Years later, Cookie came -- his four-legged shadow and companion.
Junior loved his family and friends, he loved life and life loved him. Junior continued to work and loved to hunt every chance he could. Junior enjoyed helping people, being a good neighbor, working faithfully in the church and he dearly loved being a volunteer firefighter with the Jordan Chapel Fire Department.
In 2004, Junior was diagnosed with cancer. He never complained, always concerned about everyone else, never letting this monster get him down. All that knew Junior, saw him put up a fight to survive, that out shone everything he had ever done. Junior fought with dignity, courage and an unwavering faith. Junior fought so hard because he lived life to the fullest and most of all, for Kay and Jessica.
Junior ran a race and he ran it hard; but God had plans for him to rest. Junior's life and spirit can never be forgotten -- not by family, friends, or anyone who was fortunate enough to have known this fine man.
God bless you, Junior, keep the pearly gates open for us.
Love, Kay and Jessica.
