DAN ECHOLS BOSTIC

Dan Echols Bostic, 98, of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., and Covington, Va., passed away early Sunday morning at Allegheny Regional Hospital after an extended illness. Born in Greenbrier County, W.Va., he was a son of the late Clyde Clarence and Ethel Louise Alderman Bostic. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Bostic was of the Methodist faith and during his childhood he attended school at the Eakle Chapel School on Big Draft Road.
Preceding him in death other than his parents were his wife, Mildred Bowyer Bostic on July 31, 1989; an infant son, Lester Gordon Bostic; and one grandson, Patrick Lynn Bostic.
Surviving is one son, Paul Tommy Bostic and his wife, Sandra, of Covington, Va., with whom he made his home; two daughters, Janice VanDevender and husband, Robert, of Conyers, Ga., and Stella Walsh and husband, Calvin, of White Sulphur Springs; and one sister, Madeline Gray Wickline of White Sulphur Springs; two grandsons, Danny VanDevender and Paul Tommy Bostic ; and four other grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, in the Chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs with the Rev. Forrest Lee Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in the Whatcoat Cemetery, Route 92, White Sulphur Springs. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at the funeral home.
