LaGRANGE -- James Joseph "Jim" Rumschlag, 68, of 3540 Pauls Path Road, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at his home. Jim was born in Seneca County, Ohio, to the late Wilbert George and Gertrude Rumschlag.
He served 21 years with the United States Marine Corps retiring as a first sergeant. Jim served during conflicts in Vietnam and Beirut and was a Purple Heart recipient. Following his retirement from the Marine Corps, Jim worked 19 years with Coca-Cola Bottling Co., retiring as warehouse manager. Jim was a member of LaGrange Church of God and had a great love of fishing and carpentry. He had a great love of family, enjoyed children and was a loving uncle.
Funeral will be Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at 4 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Arnold Ball and Sister Hazel Baker officiating. Entombment with full military honors will be Monday at 11 a.m. from Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Jim was adored by his family and is survived by his wife of 38 years, Glennie Herring Rumschlag; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Elvin and Sally Faye Herring of LaGrange; two stepgrandchildren and stepgrandchildren-in-law, Stacy and Dayna Herring of LaGrange, Sherry and Beecher Smith of LaGrange; four step great-grandchildren, Jessica, Cayce, Allyson and Alexandria; three daughters, Lisa Ann, Lori Lynn and Lei Lani; three brothers, Wilbert Henry Rumschlag of Arizona, Richard Paul Rumschlag of Ohio and Robert Eugene Rumschlag of Ohio; sister, Kathleen Eader of Fayetteville; aunt, Alice Lambright of Ohio; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
