DAYNA BROOKE WIGGS
Dayna Brooke Wiggs, 25, of Rosewood Road, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run accident in Princeton.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Rick Mondell will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange.
Brooke was born in Wayne County on Nov. 17, 1981, to Danny and Debbie Wiggs of Rosewood. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Goldsboro.
In addition to her parents, Brooke is survived by her son, Ashton Hunter Winstead, of the home; one sister, Nikki Wiggs of the home; Ashton's father, Michael "Hunter" Winstead of Mount Olive; her maternal grandparents, Sheridan and Jean McCoy of Cove City; Ashton's paternal grandparents, Tony and Lynn Winstead of Mount Olive; aunts and uncles, Vernell and Ernest Quinn of Hood Swamp, Roger and Dawn Smith of Hood Swamp, Jarvis and Judy James of Rosewood and Shirley Moore of Grifton; cousins, Rex and Casey Smith, Tammy, Jeff, Allison and Kaitlyn Kincaid, and Jay, Amber and Brayden James; and her extended family of special aunts, uncles and cousins.
Brooke was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, John Rex Smith; her paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Cleo Wiggs; and her maternal great-grandparents, Mary and Fred Wise.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of Vernell and Ernest Quinn, 1370 Hood Swamp Road and Jarvis and Judy James, 301 Muriel Hooks Drive in Rosewood.
