John Wesley "Duck" Dawson, 80, formerly of La Grange, died Tuesday at the home of his daughter, 1906 Hardee Road, Kinston.
The Lenoir County native was the son of the late Doll Dawson and Mary Jones Bizzell.
Three children survive.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in La Grange, with Michael Johnson officiating.
Visitation will be 12:30-2 p.m. today at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Pinelawn Cemetery in Kinston.
Arrangements are being handled by Lightner Memorial Funeral Home.
