Jessie A. Mitchell departed this life at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, N.C. on Wednesday after a period of illness.
His parents, Jessie and Nellie Ward Mitchell, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at 11 a.m. from the Guiding Star Holy Church, 1114 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro, N.C. Eulogized by Bishop Lemon Dudley of Saint Delight United Holy Church, LaGrange, N.C. Interment will follow in the Old Mill Cemetery, Goldsboro, N.C. Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, from noon to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, Goldsboro, N.C. Also, a wake will be held, Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Hamilton Funeral Chapel from 7 to 8 p.m. with the family present to receive friends and other family members.
Family and friends will be received at the home of Joseph and Betty Rhoe, 707 Weaver Drive, Goldsboro, N.C.
Jessie leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Ruthier W. Mitchell of Dudley N.C.; seven daughters; Mozelle Christ, Betty Rhoe, Ruthie Stokes, Bretha Darden and Frances Marks, all of Goldsboro, N.C., Thelma Mitchell of Raleigh, N.C., Eunice Smith and Carolyn Bowman of Temple Hills, Md.; five sons; Elder Charlie Mitchell, Linwood Mitchell and Jerry Mitchell, all of Goldsboro, N.C., Jonathan Mitchell of Oxon Hills, Md., and Carlton Mitchell of Temple Hills, Md.; three sisters; Mary Leanna Foskey and Ada Best of Goldsboro, N.C., Nellie Thompson of New York; five brothers; Hezzie Mitchell and Leander Mitchell, both of Goldsboro, N.C., Nathaniel Mitchell of Dudley, N.C., John Mitchell of New York and Bobby Mitchell of Maryland; three stepdaughters; Linda Deans of Goldsboro, N.C., Carolyn King of Raleigh, N.C., and Margie Warren of New York; two stepsons; Gerald Worrell of Goldsboro, N.C., and Horace Worrell of Wilmington, N.C.; 33 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to cherish his memory.
The family takes this opportunity to thank you for your prayers and support during our time of bereavement.
