KENNETH R. DUPREE I

Kenneth Royal Dupree I, 70, passed away Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in his home. Visitation will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Highway 111, near Albertson, on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral following at the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Outlaw-Dupree Cemetery on Outlaw Road near Outlaw's Bridge. The family will also receive friends at the Dupree home at 4321 North N.C. Highway 111, Albertson.
Kenneth was born near Outlaw's Bridge in Duplin County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Dupree and Lena Ethel Quinn Dupree. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Charlotte Outlaw Dupree; his son, Ken Dupree II of Albertson, N.C.; his daughter, Renee Dupree Quinn and husband, Tim Quinn, of Powder Springs, Ga.; five grandsons, Richard Dupree, Ashley Dupree, Brandon Quinn, Zachary Quinn and Tyler Quinn; one brother, Ricky Dupree and wife, Julia Sutton Dupree; two nephews, Alan Dupree, Scott Dupree and wife, Astrid Dupree.
Kenneth was very active in his faith and religion while serving in various callings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including Executive Secretary, High Priest Group Leader, Counselor to the Elders, Quorum President, Counselor in the Bishopric and Bishop.
The funeral service will be conducted by Bishop Hugh Harper of the Albertson Ward.
Arrangements are being handled by Pink Hill Funeral Home, Pink Hill.
