LUBY BRYAN

Joseph Luby Bryan, 65, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Luby was born on Sept. 5, 1941, in Wayne County to the late Joseph Herbert Bryan and Fannie Harrell Bryan. He was a partner at the Planters Tobacco Warehouse and also owned and operated Bryan's Auto Sales in Goldsboro. Luby served as the last president for the Goldsboro Tobacco Belt. He served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars. Luby was a member of Eureka Christian Church.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with military honors.

Luby is survived by his wife, Erlene Head Bryan; his sons and daughter-in-law, Byron Luby Bryan of Goldsboro and Paul and Gina Bryan of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Luke Bryan and Jonathan Bryan; his brothers, Shelton Bryan and Cecil Bryan, both of Goldsboro; and his sister, Violet Herring of Wilmington.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Aleise Edwards and, Margie Mozingo, and his brothers, J.W. Bryan, Lindell Bryan and Philip Bryan.

The family will receive friends Sunday at Seymour Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. and other times at his home, 105 Gainey Drive.
