DONALD RAY JONES
Donald Ray Jones, age 60, of 1005 S. Madison Ave., died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born to Laurena Sutton Jones and Benjamin Jones on March 30, 1947 and departed this life on July 28, 2007.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his mother, Laurena S. Jones.
Mr. Jones worked for 39 years at Wayne Op-portunity Center and he was a 1966 graduate of Dillard High School.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at 2 p.m. from the Goldsboro Chapel F.W.B. Church, 1314 Ben Brewington Court, Goldsboro, N.C., with the Elder James Collins presiding. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Goldsboro, N.C. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C.
He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Mauleena S. King of Goldsboro; one grandson, Juell A. King of Goldsboro; his father, Benjamin Jones of Goldsboro; one sister, Grace Austin and husband, Thomas Sr., of the home; one niece, LaTarsha Austin of the home; two nephews, Kenyatta Jones of Jacksonville, N.C; and Thomas Austin Jr., of Goldsboro; two aunts, Mable Langston and husband, Zeb Jr., and Eliza S. Jones, all of Goldsboro; one great-niece and one great-nephew; a host of other relatives and dear friends.
At other times, the family will receive family members and friends at the home of Thomas and Grace Austin at 1005 S. Madison Ave., Goldsboro, N.C.
