SNOW HILL -- Mattie Sauls Locust, age 91, of 307 Pineshoal Drive, died Friday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital, Kinston, N.C.
She was born to the late George and Mary Moore Sauls on March 9, 1916 and departed this life on July 20, 2007.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 28, 2007, at 12 noon from the St. John United Holy Church, Snow Hill, N.C., with Elder Michael E. Artis presiding. Interment will follow in the family plot at Artis' Cemetery, Stantonsburg, N.C. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 27, 2007, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C. A wake will be held, Friday evening, July 27, 2007, at the United Holy Church, 1432 Fort Run Road, Snow Hill, N.C., from 6 to 7 p.m., with the family present to receive friends and other family members.
She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Mary Sauls of the home and Dorothy Artis of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one son, Ronald Sauls of North Dakota; one sister, Lillie Hines of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and one brother, Walter Sauls, of the home.
