FAISON -- Gertie Lee Armwood, 72, of 121 Strawberry Patch Road, died Thursday at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville, N.C. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 14, 2007, at 1 p.m. from the KEMBA Headquarters in Warsaw, N.C., with Bishop Chester Aycock officiating. Burial will follow in the Cobbs Cemetery, Faison, N.C.
Ms. Armwood is survived by her children, Alma Murphy of Passaic, N.J., Robert Phyllian of Faison, N.C., Lucy Jane Vann of Mount Olive, N.C., Carrie Tyler of Beulaville, N.C., Peggy Jones of Six Run, N.C. and Pamela Armwood of Faison, N.C.; one brother, Willie Wells of Faison, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great- grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Garris Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Olive, with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.
