Gloria Hunter, 81, of Goldsboro died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory. Mr. James Thompson will officiate.
Mrs. Hunter was born in Wayne County to the late Richard Simmons and Blossom Boseman Simmons. She was retired with Tensor Corporation as a supervisor.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Hunter; a daughter, Christine Hunter of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters, Jetta Hamilton and husband, Earl, of Dudley, and Peggy Downing and husband, Milton, of Goldsboro; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard M. Simmons.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
