AYDEN -- Ronald Andrew Taylor Barrett, 51, died Monday as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Wilkerson Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount.
Mr. Barrett, a native of Edgecombe County, had previously lived in Rocky Mount and resided in Ayden for the past 13 years. Employed in food service, he had previously worked at Cypress Glen Retirement Community and most recently was the manager of the Pizza Inn in Greenville.
He had a love of collecting Santa Claus figures, cooking and catering. He loved people and found great joy in helping people he came in contact with.
He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Barrett, and a sister, Muriel Barrett. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Oliver Barrett; son, Adam T. Barrett of Eden; grandson, Austin T. Barrett of Eden; stepdaughter, Sherry M. Oliver of Greenville; stepson, Brian L. Oliver of Washington; mother, Hattie T. Barrett of Rocky Mount; sister, Cindy Barrett of Rocky Mount; brother, John W. (Bill) Barrett and wife, Tammie, of Rocky Mount; special companion, Coco; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home today from 6 until 8 p.m.
