MARIANNE M. COLE

Marianne M. Cole died Monday at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born in Gorlitz, Germany in 1925 to the late Max Albert and Albertine Martha Leuschner Wehner. She was married to the late Senior Master Sgt. Harold Eugene Cole. Mrs. Cole retired from the U.S. Air Force Civil Service in 1987. She was a member of Saulston United Methodist Church and was a member at large of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a master gardener and prior member of the Belfast Extension Homemakers. Until recently, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Saulston United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rick Ward officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Sunset Memory Gardens in Cartersville, Ga.
She is survived by her son, James Cole and wife, Kathy, of Wheatland, Calif.; daughter, Diana Barnicott and husband, Paul, of San Antonio, Texas; and grandchildren, Jason Cole and wife, Jessica, Tara Cole and Shannon Barnicott.
Memorials may be made to Saulston United Methodist Church, 4620 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
Family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
