Herman Ray Phillips, 65, 3015 McLain St., died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be this evening at 7 p.m. at United in Christ Church, 1314 Patetown Road. The Rev. Ira Williford will officiate. Graveside service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Phillips was born in Wayne County to Marie Rose Phillips and the late Lebert Phillips. He was retired from Kemp Furniture with over 20 years of service and was a charter member of United in Christ Church, Goldsboro.
In addition to his mother, Marie Rose Phillips of Rosewood, he is survived by his wife, Faye Phillips; daughter, Katina Phillips Davis and husband, Mike, of Rosewood; brother, Ronnie Phillips and wife, Debbie, of Rosewood; and sister, Donna Phillips Reel and husband, Steve, of Raleigh.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lebert Phillips and his mother-in-law, Winnie Kearney.
Family will receive friends this evening following the service at United in Christ Church, 1314 Patetown Road, Goldsboro, and other times at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Katina and Mike Davis, 502 Holland Hill Drive, Rosewood.
