IRIS "POLLY" DAVIS

FREMONT -- Iris "Polly" Corbett Davis, 76, East Carolina Street, died Wednesday at home.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Fremont United Methodist Church, Fremont. The Rev. Judith Drye and the Rev. R.C. Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Pikeville Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis was born in Pitt County to the late James Leroy and Bessie Frances Dudley Corbett. She was a member of Fremont United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Chester Davis and wife, Cookie, of Fremont; four daughters, Jennifer Davis Henderson and husband, Chad, of Raleigh, Sheila Knotts and husband, Steve, of Fremont, Cheryl Davis of Lynchburg, Va., and Judy Saccenti and husband, Tom, of Willard, Ohio; sister, Claudia Jackie Troyer of Chesapeake, Va.; 16 grandchildren, Christopher, Sara, Katie and Jesse Knotts, Abby Knotts Rauscher, Becky Alford, Dr. Emilie Stickley, Tommy, Betsy and Andrew Saccenti, Isabelle and Andrew Henderson, and Josh, Mitch, Terence and Taylor Davis; and two great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Hope Alford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester R. Davis; son, Jonathan Davis; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ellianna Alford; and several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine St., Fremont.
