George Dale Lane, 63, of 523 Riverbend Road, died Friday at his residence. A native of Wayne County, he was born to the late George and Aylene Clayton Lane. Mr. Lane was a self-employed electrical contractor and a mason.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tony McLamb and the Rev. Andy Stovall officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Lane is survived by his wife, Gail Phillips Lane; sons, Scott Lane of Goldsboro, Phillip Amodeo and wife, Jane of Lexington, Mike Amodeo and wife, Tracey of Goldsboro; sisters, Carol Hill of Princeton and Lynda Benson of Smithfield; brother, John Strickland of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren.
Mr. Lane was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a son, Greg Lane and two brothers, Bennie and Danny Lane.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence.
