LLOYD PENDER

Mr. Lloyd Pender, 77, of Goldsboro, formerly of the Grantham Community, died Thursday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Pender was born in Wayne County on to the late Frank Pender and Mattie McKeel Pender. He was married to the late Eva Sasser Pender. Mr. Pender was a veteran of the Korean War and had retired from Pyrofax Gas Company.
Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie McKeel officiating. Burial will follow in Eureka Cemetery.
Mr. Pender is survived by his daughters, Penny Williams and husband, Gene of Guyton, Ga., and Pam Merhley of Batesville, Ind.; his sisters, Agnes P. Hart of Rosewood, Hazel P. Smith of Goldsboro, Harlowe P. Jurney and husband, Neal, of Goldsboro, Shirley P. Johnson of Goldsboro, Grace P. Stelly and husband, Bobby, of Norfolk, Va.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin E. Pender.
The family recived friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Neal and Harlowe Jurney, 237 S. Hillcrest Drive, Goldsboro.
