DUNN -- Donald Wayne Head, 68, 115 Brandywood Drive, died Wednesday at his residence. He was born in Wayne County to the late Wayne and Mildred Smith Head. Mr. Head retired after 22 years of service in the U.S. Air Force and was also employed for over 19 years with Wayne Memorial Hospital in security. He was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Gospel Tabernacle Church, Dunn. Officiating will be the Rev. Ken Milliken, the Rev. King E. White Sr., and pastor Eddie White. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery, Dunn, with military honors.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Taylor Head; daughter, Tracy Puckett of Brokenarrow, Okla.; son, Dexter Head of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Janice H. White of Dunn; brother, Ricky Head of Wilson; four grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at Gospel Tabernacle Church from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service.
Funeral arrangements are being entrusted to Rose and Graham Funeral Home, Benson.
