Died Jan. 29, 2007
Mary Eliza Simmons, 85, 416 S. Leslie St., died Monday at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvanus C. and Annie Yelverton Simmons.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at Pentecostal Holy Church, 600 E. Pine St., Golds-boro, with pastor Willie Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mill Cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Sylvanus J. Simmons of Raleigh; two daughters, Denise Simmons-Reed and Bernita S. Newkirk, both of Dudley; brother, Edward H. Simmons of Manhattan, N.Y.; two sisters, Mozetta Leggett and Ossie L. Williams, both of Goldsboro; one granddaughter.
Viewing will be Friday from 1 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, Goldsboro.
