JOHN R. TOLAR IV

John Robert Tolar IV, 80, 307 Commons Gate Drive, died Tuesday at his home.
Mr. Tolar was born in New York, N.Y. to the late John Robert Tolar III and Edna Jennings Tolar. He was a retired MSgt. in the U. S. Air Force with 24 years of service. Mr. Tolar had also worked as an electrical contractor in Goldsboro. He was a member of Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church and Wayne Masonic Lodge #112 A.F. & A.M.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Glenn Everett officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at Devotional Gardens in Kenansville.
Mr. Tolar is survived by his wife, Janice Rooks Tolar; his daughter, Jacqueline Cavenaugh and husband, Mike, of Newport; his son, John R. Tolar V and wife, Beth, of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Tona Draughon and husband, Stephen, of Morehead City, Brooke Tolar of Goldsboro, Jennifer Tolar of Goldsboro, Rebeckah Turner of Goldsboro, T.J. Capps of Goldsboro and Kristin Jones of Goldsboro; and his great-grandchildren, Hunter Draughon, Sophie Draughon, and Jasmin Turner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church, 2803 E. Ash St., Goldsboro or Advantage Home Care and Hospice, 2307 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, 27534.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
