REV. RALPH WHITFIELD

The Rev. Ralph Whitfield, 75, 1509 Scottie Drive, died Saturday at his residence. He was a native of Wayne County and was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Annie Lewis Whitfield and a son, Robert Earl Whitfield.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at McIntyre Funeral Home Chapel, 900 S. George St., with the Rev. Ed Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Mill Cemetery, Central Heights Road, Goldsboro.
He is survived by his wife,Thelma Isabel Whitfield of the home; a son, Raphael Whitfield of N.J.; brother, Billy Whitfield of Lanham, Md.; two sisters, Mary W. Barnes of Goldsboro and Alethea W. Campbell of Washington, D.C.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Viewing will be Thursday at McIntyre Funeral Home from 3 to 6 p.m. The family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
