Thomas Edward King Sr., 74, 201 Country Acres Road, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was born in South Norfolk, Va., to the late Harold and Thelma Norris King. A Vietnam veteran, he was a retired Technical Sergeant with the U. S. Air Force having served his country for 23 years. Mr. King had also worked for 19 years as prison guard at Central Prison in Raleigh. He had worked with the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the Goldsboro Civitans.
Funeral services will be Thursday 1 p.m. at Oak Forest Church of Christ with Robert Goff and Lennie Reagan officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. King is survived by his wife, Judith Kleinofen King; his children, Thomas King Jr. of Goldsboro, Linda Gray of Goldsboro, Laura Cox and husband, Steven, of Albertson, Frederick King and wife, Kristie, of Goldsboro and Andrew King and wife, Courtney, of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Katrina Gray, Amanda Cox, Tyson and Trent King; his brother, Harold King of Richmond, Va.; and his sister, Joan St. Clair of Virginia Beach.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Daisy Cox and Carolyn Coleman.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
