HENRY JERRY DEAVER

Henry Jerry Deaver, 57, of 470 Bill Waters Road in Faison, died Thursday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Esther King Deaver, formerly of Faison, and Johnnie Deaver of Dudley. A member of Goshen New Life Church, Henry was a millwright with Georgia-Pacific Corp. and a farmer. He was an avid member of the Hobbton High School Band Boosters and a veteran of the N.C. National Guard.
Funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Goshen New Life Church, with the Revs. Stanley King and Steven King officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Terri Deaver; a son, Joshua Deaver of the home; two brothers, Johnny Ivey Deaver Jr. and wife, Nancy, of Faison, Charles Deaver and wife, Faye, of Faison; five sisters, Ruth DeYoung and husband, Larry, of Roxboro, Rosemary Howard and husband, Robert, of High Point, Betty Jean Blackman and husband, Jerry, of Raleigh, Joyce Pierce and husband, Neil, of Faison and Alice Thompson and husband, Doug, of Morehead City; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family members received friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Neil Pierce, 4953 Giddensville Road, Faison.
