DARLINGTON, S.C. -- Janie Pringle Davis, 78, died Friday in a Darlington hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Darlington Presbyterian Church with burial following in Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davis was born in Paterson, N.J., daughter of the late Harold O. and Victoria Edland Pringle. Janie graduated from Guilford College, majoring in physical education. She was choir director and organist while residing in N.C. She was a Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher and a member of Darlington Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas R. Davis of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law; Vicki and Andy Eaddy of Hartsville, Terri and Larry Atkins of Fort Mill; grandchildren, Scott and Donna Eaddy of Mount Pleasant, Michelle and Michael Hood of Hartsville, Adam Simpkins of Mount Pleasant, Somer Simpkins of Fort Mill; four great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Ann Tucker of Greensboro; brother, Donald E. Pringle of Holden Beach.
The family will receive friends Saturday at the home of Tom and Janie, 104 Brittain Drive, Darlington.
