Gayna Carlsen Morgan of Greenville and Jonathan Wilson Hairr of Greenville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 14, 2017, at 5 p.m. at Rose Hill Plantation, with the Rev. Nick Nielsen officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Grey and Gloria Morgan of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of Gaynell Brock and the late Russell Brock of Mount Olive and the late Carl and Sue Morgan of Calypso.

The bride, a native of Mount Olive, N.C., is a 2011 graduate of North Duplin Jr./Sr. High School. She attended East Carolina University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 2014.

She is employed as a registered nurse in the cardiac intensive care unit at the East Carolina Heart Institute at Vidant Medical Center.

The groom is the son of Charles and Dianne Hairr of Selma and the grandson of the late Wesley and Rochelle Hairr of Clinton and the late David Wilson and Violet Radford of Selma.

The groom, a native of Selma, N.C., is a 2002 graduate of North Johnston High School. He attended East Carolina University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in biology.

He then attended graduate school at East Carolina University and North Carolina State University.

The groom is a 2015 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

He is employed as a dentist at Dental Care Center of Rocky Mount, N.C.

The bride was escorted by her father, Grey Morgan, and given in marriage by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grey Morgan.

The bride wore a silk white Monique Lhuillier ballgown with a strapless sweetheart neckline.

The tiered skirt had horse hair trim with beaded lace appliques.

The bodice was chantilly lace with embroidery and beading. A beaded sash designed by Kate McDonald was added to the waistline.

The bride’s tulle veil was oval cut and cathedral length, designed by Jennifer Leigh.

Monique Lhuillier appliques were scattered throughout.

Her astor accessories were designed by Untamed Petals.

The bride wore an open-toe white satin beaded shoe by Badgley Mischka. Gayna carried an elegant draping bouquet designed by Heather Miller with Eclectic Sage of Raleigh filled with David Austin English garden roses with velvety crimson blooms as well as white O’Hara garden roses with a hint of blush tone in its layers of romantic petals.

A variety of other blooms accented the luscious garden roses including ranunculus, apricot stock, lisianthus and astrantia.

The bouquet was draped with greenery accents of pepper berry, smoke bush, Italian ruscus, seeded eucalyptus and hanging amaranthus.

Mrs. Brittany Lowery, friend of the couple, served as matron of honor, while Ms. Brittany Coates, friend of the couple, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Miss Bobbie Lynne Grady, cousin of the bride; Miss Jessica Hill, friend of the couple; Miss Brantlee Barwick, friend of the couple; Miss Rachel Seelig, friend of the couple; and Mrs. Laura Hutson, friend of the couple.

Miss Aubrey Hairr, niece of the groom, served as junior bridesmaid.

Mr. Charles Hairr, father of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Mr. Greyson Morgan, brother of the bride; Mr. Chris Hairr, brother of the groom; Mr. Eddie Hairr, brother of the groom; Dr. Adam Carter, friend of the couple; Dr. Martin Baker, friend of the couple; and Mr. Larry Meek, friend of the couple.

Mr. Kyle Hairr, nephew of the groom, was a junior groomsman.

Miss Kinsley Pearsall, friend of the couple, and Miss Lily Weisbrodt, cousin of the groom, were flower girls.

Mr. Aaron Hairr, nephew of the groom, and Mr. Eli Brock, cousin of the bride, were ringbearers.

Mr. Vincent Elkin, cousin of the bride, was the page boy.

Mrs. Gina Johnston Annab of A Southern Soiree in Raleigh served as wedding planner and directed the wedding.

Presiding at the register was Miss Brittany Morris, friend of the couple.

Miss Kayla Herring and Mr. Matthew Herring, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Morgan, uncle and aunt of the bride, greeted guests into the ceremony.

Alex and Laura DeTorres, Dal Cuore Music of Raleigh, N.C., were vocalists.

The Triangle String Quartet of Raleigh, N.C., provided music for the ceremony.

The reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at Nathan Hall at Rose Hill Plantation following the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Johnston, uncle and aunt of the groom, greeted guests. Steve Whetzel, the East Carolina University pirate, escorted the couple into the reception.

The food was prepared by executive chef Michael Pupillo and his team. The Band Punch of Raleigh, N.C., provided music and entertainment.

Florals were designed by Heather Miller of Eclectic Sage.

The seven-tiered wedding cake was designed by Todd Mozingo with Edible Art of Raleigh.

Dan Nelson of Dan Nelson Art provided a live painting during the reception.

Bruce Stevenson, caricaturist, provided drawings for guests during the reception.

After a wedding trip to The St. Regis Punta Mita in Punta Mita, Mexico, the couple will reside in Greenville, N.C.

The rehearsal dinner, given by the parents of the groom, was held at Rose Hill Plantation Friday evening, Oct. 13. Executive chef, Michael Pupillo, and his team prepared a barbecue-style meal.

The groom’s cake was designed by Todd Mozingo of Edible Art of Raleigh.

Music and dancing were provided by Bunn DJ Company of Raleigh, N.C. Florals were provided by Eclectic Sage of Raleigh, N.C.

Events held before the wedding Christmas included a shower hosted at the home of Kristy Brock by Kaye Brock, Debbie Grady, Brandi Elkin and Kristy Brock Dec. 10; a tool shower was given by Eddie Hairr at his home June 17; a bachelorette weekend in Savannah, Ga., July 6 through 9 hosted by the bridesmaids; a miscellaneous shower hosted by the Hairr and Radford families, held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hairr July 16; a miscellaneous shower held at Calypso Presbyterian Church by the ladies of the church Aug. 20; an “I Do” barbecue hosted by the Morgan family Aug. 26 at Sleepy Creek Clubhouse; a brunch Sept. 23 given by Barbara Ann Guy, Cindy Ivey, Sue McClenny and Debbie Jones at the home of Mrs. Guy; a golf outing given by Grey and Greyson Morgan held at Ironwood Country Club in Greenville Sept. 23; a luncheon Sept. 24 given by Sharon Dixon, Brenda Holliday, Sybil Merkison and Jean Anderson at Ribeye’s of Mount Olive; a miscellaneous shower Sept. 29 given by co-workers of the bride at Winslow’s in Greenville; a bridal brunch hosted by Melisia Gainey, Evelyn Wells and Pam Brewer held at Rock Springs Center in Greenville Sept. 30; an a bridesmaids’ luncheon hosted by Debbie Grady, Kaye Brock, Brandi Elkin and Gaynell Brock held at Ironwood Country Club Oct. 7.
