Hulse-Evans
Hallie Middleton Hulse and Benjamin Austin Evans exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 24, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Raymond J.Hanna officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Brian Geoffrey and Lee Edgerton Hulse of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Herbert Bruce and Rowena Middleton Hulse of Goldsboro, Norman Lee Edgerton Jr. of Goldsboro and Susan High Edgerton of Goldsboro.
She graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2008 and the University of North Carolina Greensboro in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in special and elementary education, and received a master’s degree in special education from Concordia University in Portland in 2016. She is employed as a special education teacher at Wake County Public Schools.
The groom is the son of Eddie Eugene and Sandra Elizabeth Evans of Goldsboro and the grandson of Janice Evans and the late Edward Evans of Fort Mohave, Ariz., and the late John and Sadie Wortham of Rosewood community.
He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2008 and Wayne Community College in mechanical engineering technology in 2011. He is employed as foreman at Kirlin Carolinas LLC.
The bride was escorted by her father, Geoff Hulse, and given in marriage by her parents, Geoff and Lee Hulse.
She wore an A-line hand-beaded sleeveless dress with lace and a chapel train. Her veil was two-tiered also lace and beaded.
Miss Lura Edgerton Hulse was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Harriet Alden Pridgen, Miss Alexandra Elizabeth Hulse and Miss Ann Reed Hulse.
Mr.Zachary Joseph Besser served as best man.
Groomsmen were Mr. James Jacob Goff, Mr.Journey Garrett Evans and Mr. Miles Tyler Boyce.
Miss Sallie Brown Fleming was flower girl.
Mr. Cason LeChot and Mr. Nikko Harris were ringbearers
Mrs. Allison Pridgen directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Miss Catherine Graham. Miss Rachel Graham distributed programs.
Miss Madeline Edwards was vocalist and Mr. Marshall Foster was organist.
The bride’s parents, Geoff and Lee Hulse, hosted the reception at their home immediately following the ceremony.
The couple will take a cross country road trip later this summer. The couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The groom’s parents, Ed and Sandra Evans, hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Terrace Room Friday, June 23.
Events held before the wedding included a shower May 27 hosted by friends of the family at the home of Mrs. Angela Stockton; a shower May 20 at St. Stephen’s hosted hosted by friends; and a backyard buffet at the home of Mr and Mrs Gary Smithwick later that evening.
