Sauls-Lewis
Emily Anne Sauls and Gary Alexander Lewis exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Robert Bardin officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Malloy Sauls of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Mr. Joe Ben Sauls and the late Mrs. Katie Fields Sauls of Goldsboro and Mrs. Carmen Pope Hoyle and the late Mr. Kenneth Richard Hoyle Sr. of Sanford.
She is a graduate of Salem College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in studio art with a concentration in graphic design. She is employed as a graphic designer at Monkee’s Franchising LLC.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Earl Lewis of Lumberton and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lewis of Lumberton and Mrs. Juanita Allen Phillips and the late Mr. Joseph Preston Phillips of Lumberton.
He is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural business management. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Elon University School of Law. He is employed as an attorney at the law offices of Jason M. Blackburn PLLC.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a sleeveless, champagne double-weave floral matelasse ballgown featuring a V-neck and bow details on the straps and along the cathedral train. She wore a champagne cathedral-length double veil with fingertip blusher trimmed with Alencon lace adorned with golden threads, sequins and pearls. Her bouquet was a mixture of roses, hydrangeas and alstroemeria accented with seeded eucalyptus and Alexandrian laurel, handtied with golden ribbon.
Carmen Sauls Price of Winston-Salem was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mary Virginia Broughton of Raleigh, Mary Ivey Montgomery Stewart of Raleigh, Racheal Ann Salmons of Yadkinville, Sarah Elizabeth Wright of Siler City and Kayla Marie Kennedy of Goldsboro.
Joseph Martin Lewis of Lumberton was his brother’s best man.
Groomsmen were Andrew Stewart Price of Winston-Salem, Eugene Wilkes Stranch Jr. of Winston-Salem, Michael Arthur Carpenter of Roanoke Rapids and Brinson Carter White II of Earlysville, Va.
Ellen Jordan directed the wedding.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jayson Keeton, organist, and Daryl Richardson, trumpeter.
Meghan LaFave and Rebecca Thompson, friends of the bride and groom, distributed programs.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at their home. Evelyn Rose was the reception coordinator. Dr. and Mrs. Mark LaFave greeted guests at the reception.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower hosted by Marilyn Bateman, Jennifer Wilder, Hettie Grisette, Peg Price and Barbara Bradshaw at First Presbyterian Church; a bridal shower hosted by Sarah Gaylor, Mary Ellis, Meredith Gurley, Ali Blackburn, Emily Byrd and Jennifer Wilder at the home of Jennifer Wilder; a bridal shower hosted by Sandra Lewis and Katie White in Lumberton; a kitchen shower hosted by friends in Lumberton; a bridesmaids’ luncheon hosted by Kitty Sauls, Katherine Sauls and Heather Honeycutt at the home of Kitty Sauls; a wedding eve party hosted by friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Gaylor III; and a post wedding brunch at the home of Judith McMillen and Glenn Barwick.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Oct. 14 at Ed’s Southern Food and Spirits.
After their wedding trip to Ireland and Scotland, the couple resides in Goldsboro.
