Outlaw-Slusher
Hollie Brenn Outlaw and Seth Michael Slusher exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 26, 2015, at 5 p.m. at Lane Tree, with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating.
The bride is the daughter of William Haywood and Bonnie Bizzell Outlaw of Dudley and the granddaughter of Ruth Lamm Outlaw and the late Robert Outlaw of Dudley and the late Reverend Thomas Edwin and Lois Rachel Bizzell of Princeton.
She is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She is also a graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in nursing.
She is employed as a registered nurse on a medical-surgical floor at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The groom is the son of William Michael and Sandra Kay Slusher of Goldsboro and the grandson of Emma Sue Slusher and the late William Monroe Slusher of Patterson, Mo., and Richard Leon and Ruby Louise Allen of Clubb, Mo.
He is a graduate of Wayne Christian School. He is also a graduate of Wayne Community College with a certification in HVAC.
He is employed as a field service technician with Carolina Handling.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a fitted trumpet gown that featured a strapless sweetheart neckline, a ruched bodice and a flowing skirt with fabric pickups at the hip.
The back of the bodice had covered buttons that extended to the waist and a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was her sister’s chapel-length veil.
She also wore her mother’s garter.
She carried a handheld bridal bouquet of white hydrangeas, white and pink peonies, white, pink and orange roses and green berries accented with a touch of yellow with a collar of greenery wrapped with white and black striped ribbon.
Hannah Nunn, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor, while
Bridesmaids were Sabrina Haverty, Meredith Jackson and Adelina Sgondea, friends of the bride, and Brooke Slusher, sister of the groom.
William Slusher, father of the groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Tyler Mooring, Anthony Mulligan, Austin Walker and Baron Wise, friends of the groom.
Harper Nunn was flower girl.
Van Walker Nunn was ringbearer.
Sue Davis directed the wedding.
Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Annette Holland and Betsy Woodard, aunts of the bride.
A sit-down dinner reception and dancing followed at Lane Tree hosted by the bride’s parents.
After a wedding trip cruise to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Dudley.
Events held before the wedding included a groomsmen’s trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., July 9 through 12; a bridal shower at Wayne Memorial Hospital given by Meredith Jackson, friend of the bride, and the sixth-floor nurses and nurse aides Sept. 1; a bridesmaids’ trip to Washington, D.C., Sept. 17 through 20; an afternoon tea at the Jefferson Hotel in Washington, D.C., hosted by Bonnie Outlaw, mother of the bride, Sept. 19; and a bridesmaids’ brunch at Walnut Creek hosted by Sue Davis, wedding director, Sept. 25.
The rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s parents at Lane Tree.
