Turner-Ham
Caitlin Blair Turner of Albertson and Kyle Howard Ham of LaGrange exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 27, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. at Hamstead Acres in LaGrange. Pastors Linda Grider and Paul Lee officiated, and the Rev. Dr. Mallie Hinnant presided as scripture reader.
The bride is the daughter of Lester Jerle and Gwen Davis Turner of Albertson and the granddaughter of Lester Turner and the late Betty Jo Murphy Turner of Pink Hill and the late Hess Davis Jr. and Evelyn Hill Davis of Albertson.
She graduated from East Carolina University in 2012 with a bachelor of science degree in recreational therapy. She is employed as a recreational therapist at Maury Correctional Unit.
The groom is the son of Jay and Ann Hamm Ham of LaGrange and the grandson of Leslie Howard and Janice Carraway Ham of LaGrange, the late Holton Bert Hamm of Ahoskie and Shelby Skinner Allegood of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Mount Olive College in 2012 with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry. He is employed as a chemist at DuPont in Kinston.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an ivory Alencon lace sleeveless bridal gown with a V-neck front and back. The dress featured a chapel-length train. Her mother wore the gown on her wedding day. She also wore a vintage necklace and shoes.
In her hair, she wore an ivory birdcage veil accented with a handmade vintage barrette.
The bride carried a bouquet of pink and white garden roses and sophie roses with calla lilies, pink lepto and English ivy. The bouquet was wrapped with antique lace from the dress.
Brittany Cottle served as matron of honor, while Alexis Smith was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Brittany Acree, sister of the groom; Ashley Jarman and Lindsay Stroud, friends of the bride; and Sarah Turner, sister-in-law of the bride.
Jay Ham served as best man.
Groomsmen were Kevin Acree, brother-in-law of the groom, Aaron Hamm, Jay Kornegay Jr. and Tyler Kornegay, cousins of the groom; and Seth Turner, brother of the bride.
Honorary bridesmaids were Nicole Grady, Katie Herring, Megan Miller and Blair Mozingo.
Ushers were Nick Barrow, friend of the groom; Trey Carraway, cousin of the groom; Benjamin Davis, cousin of the bride; Chad Ginn, Scotty Ginn and Taylor Ginn, friends of the groom; and Kyle Simpson friend of the couple.
Tinsley Fife and Kyleigh Beth Turner were flower girls.
Brody Webster was ringbearer.
Leah Fife and Rebecca Ivey directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Karly Rivenbark. Madison Mozingo distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Sylvia Overman, pianist; Jenny Heim and Miss Sarah Davis, violinists; and Jay Kornegay Jr., Tyler Kornegay and Brittany Acree, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a tent reception at Hamstead Acres.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in LaGrange.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner April 26 at Hamstead Acres.
Events held before the wedding included an engagement party Oct. 20 at Hamstead Acres hosted by the bride and groom’s parents and special helpers, Sharon and Randy Patterson, Ronda and Woody Stroud, Fran and Ricky Bostic, Bobbie and John Smith and Lisa and Tim Blizzard; a Christmas shower Dec. 7 at the home of Sharon Patterson given by Brittany Cottle, Leah Fife and Sharon Patterson, friends of the couple; a bridal shower Jan. 13 at Bethel United Methodist Church hosted by family and friends; a bridal shower Feb. 17 at Woodland United Methodist Church hosted by family and friends; a monogram shower March 17 at the home of Ronda Stroud hosted by Nora Bradley, Ashley Jarman, Lindsay and Ronda Stroud; a bridesmaids’ luncheon April 6 at The Ashford Inn hosted by Teresa Davis, Myra Deaver, Jackie Herring and Debbie Stilley; a handyman shower honoring Kyle Ham Saturday, April 13, hosted by Gena and Tim Hamm, Jay and Terri Kornegay and Amanda and Noah Turner; and a bachelorette weekend April 19-21 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by Brittany Acree and bridesmaids.
