Smith - Tyner
Courtney Diann Tyner and Skyler Heath Smith of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 5 at 5 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Susan Tyner of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of David and Doris Peele of Princeton, Eloise Grantham Edgerton of Burlington, the late J.B. Grantham and the late Milton Tyner.
She is a 2007 graduate of Rosewood High School and a graduate of Wayne Community College’s dental assisting program. She is employed as a dental assistant at Sean Hamilton DDS.
The groom is the son of Randy Smith of Pikeville and the grandson of Ellen Smith of Pikeville and the late Boyd Smith.
He is a 2007 Graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. He is employed as a maintenance technician at Skill Creations Inc.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an ivory gown of lace and English netting with a sweetheart neckline, a jeweled belt accented with Swarovski crystals, three-dimensional appliqués throughout the entire gown and a semi-cathedral train.
Her headpiece was a headband of pearls and Swarovski crystals.
The bride carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, white Virginia roses and stephanotis hand-tied with satin and appliqués from her mother’s wedding gown.
April Tyndall was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Emily Ardis, Kristy Bridgers, Rusti Rayburn and Brittany Smith, friends of the couple; Amy Smith, sister in law of the groom; and Beth Tyner, cousin of the bride.
Randy Smith was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Shayne Paul, Patrick Rayburn, T.J. Sasser and Joseph Toler, friends of the couple, and Blake Smith and Neil Smith, brothers of the groom.
Madison Tyndall, niece of the bride, was the junior bridesmaids.
Hailey Smith and Kellie Smith, nieces of the groom, were flower girls. Landon Tyndall, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
Lisa Millard directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Mandy Smith, sister-in-law of the groom. Hannah Smith and Kacey Smith, nieces of the groom, distributed programs.
Special helpers were Beverly Keen, Pam Bunn, Beverly Bartholomew, Kim Weaver, Hayden Brantham and Daniel Hartley.
A program of wedding music was provided by Timothy D. Price, pianist, and Mike Smith and Julia Lancaster, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parent hosted a reception in the church family life center. Tracy Brantham and Amy Hartley, aunts of the bride, served the wedding cake.
After their wedding cruise, the couple will reside in Pikeville,.
Events held before the wedding included a Christmas shower Jan. 8 at the home of Dawn Gardner hosted by Ms. Gardner and April Tyndall; a Tupperware shower Aug. 20 at the home of Eloise Edgerton hosted by the bride’s family; a bridal shower Oct. 2 at Rosewood First Baptist Church hosted by the Explorers Sunday school class, Carolyn Braswell and Kim Weaver; a groom’s shower Oct. 12 hosted by co-workers of Skill Creations; a bachelorette party Oct. 22 in Raleigh hosted by April Tyndall, sister of the bride; a girl’s night Oct. 28 at the home of Kourtney Humphrey hosted by friends of the bride; a bridal luncheon Oct. 29 at Goldsboro Country Club hosted by Beverly Bartholomew, Eloise Edgerton, Joann Neal and Doris Peele; and a bachelor party Oct. 29 at the home of the groom’s father.
The groom’s father hosted a rehearsal dinner at Murphy’s Place.
