Lindsey Anne Hill and Graham John Wooten of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Glenn Franklin Phillips Jr. officiating.
The bride is the daughter of David Bryant and Sidney Ricks Hill of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Walter Bryant, Mildred Glover Hill, Ola Lee Ricks and the late Richard Sidney Ricks Jr. of Goldsboro.
She graduated from Charles B. Aycock in 2003 and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at Chapel Hill. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. She attends East Carolina University’s adult nurse practitioner program. She is employed as a registered nurse at East Carolina Heart Institute in the cardiac intermediate unit.
The groom is the son of Marvin Graham and Joyce Johnson Wooten of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Elton Graham and Lillie Langley Wooten of Rocky Mount and the late John Herman and Marjorie Todd Johnson of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Eastern Wayne in 2003 and Louisburg Junior College and Mount Olive College with a bachelor's degree in recreation and leisure studies. He is employed at SouthCo Distributing.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a formal gown of ivory taffeta with a fit and flare silhouette with a surplus halter neckline enhanced by self draping. Shaped streamers flowed from a cluster of organza flowers at the base of the V-back. The draped skirt swept into a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a chapel-length veil of ivory silk illusion trimmed in satin ribbon.
The bride carried a cascading bouquet of white miniature callas, white roses, white freesia, white dendrobium orchids and stephanotis with greenery around the edges.
Melissa Wooten Eason of Goldsboro, sister of the groom, was matron of honor, while Tiffany K. Garris of Charleston, S.C., was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Justine Renee Barnes of Goldsboro, Lauren Marie Howell of Raleigh, Amy Marie Conner of Richmond, Va., and Lauren Elam Eddins of Zebulon, friends of the couple, and Claire Alise Hunter of Raleigh, Kelley Morris White of Greenville and Courtney Harte Osteen of Richmond, sorority sisters of the bride.
Marvin Graham Wooten was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were John Marvin Wooten of Goldsboro, brother of the groom; Christopher Ryan Eason and Bryant Franklin Hill of Goldsboro, brothers-in-law of the groom; and Jonathan Dustin Caudle of Yadkinville, Timothy Kivette Franklin of Raleigh, Samuel Daughtry Metzler of Dupont, Wash., Neil Moultrie Hine of Goldsboro, Joseph Weathers Eddins of Zebulon and Justin Randall Phillips of Winterville, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Ronald Gray Sloan Jr. of Garner, Matthew Weathers Steed of Goldsboro and Chad Everett Uzzell of LaGrange, friends of the couple.
Honorary bridesmaids were Katherine Elisa Carmichael of Charlotte, Jessica Grace Pierce of Raleigh, Rebecca Page Forrest of Durham and Morgan Renee Rupert of New York, N.Y., sorority sisters of the bride.
Katharine Wooten Eason of Goldsboro, niece of the groom, was flower girl.
Isabelle Williams Doss directed the wedding.
Scripture reader was Martha Bennett Metzler of Dupont, friend of the couple.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jill Suggs Howell and Jay Walker Sauls, vocalists; Casey Whaley, organist; and Paige Vickory Barwick, violinist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Goldsboro Country Club. Lee Sessoms Johnson was director. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Branson Vickory III greeted guests.
After their wedding trip to St. Kitts, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a Christmas and china shower Dec. 12 at the home of Melissa Eason hosted by Mrs. Eason, Candy Whitley, Lynda Stewart and Paige Stewart Harper; an engagement party March 19 at Busy Bee Cafe in Raleigh hosted by family and friends of the couple; a bachelor and bachelorette weekend Aug. 12-14 hosted by friends of the couple; a sunset cruise and supper Sept. 4 in Beaufort hosted by Cathy Franklin, Grace and Jeff Franklin, Gina and Jim Maxwell and Elizabeth and Gator Pelletier; a bridal brunch and shower Sept. 24 at Lane Tree Country Club hosted by Louise Garris and T.K. Garris; a luncheon at the Wooten home hosted by the groom’s mother; and a lakeside cocktail party following the rehearsal dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sherwin Herring hosted by the Herrings.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Oct. 7 at Walnut Creek Country Club.
