Shelly Lauren Sullivan of Pikeville and Darren Christopher Turner of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 2 at 6 p.m. at Lane Tree Golf Club, with the Rev. Bill Cotton officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Donnie Lee Sullivan and Barbara Barnette Reinoehl of Princeton, the stepdaughter of David Reinoehl and the granddaughter of James Marvin Sullivan and the late Betty Lou Sullivan of Princeton, the late Jesse Preston Barnette and Jean Gurley Barnette of Pikeville and Walt and Alice Reinoehl of Stuarts Draft, Va.

She graduated from Wayne Country Day School in 2008. She attends Wayne Community College for a teaching degree. She is employed as a teacher’s assistant with the Wayne County 4-H After School Program.

The groom is the son of Oscar Turner Jr. and Charmeine Fletcher Turner of Goldsboro and the grandson of Rose Turner and the late Oscar Turner of Richmond, Va., the late David Fletcher of Birmingham, Ala., and Lucille Manning of Indianapolis, Ind.

He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2007. He is employed as a material handler at AAR.

The bride was escorted by Donnie Sullivan and David Reinoehl and given in marriage by Donnie Sullivan and Mr. and Mrs. David Reinoehl.

She wore her mother’s wedding gown of ivory rose brocade and Alencon lace with a princess bodice accented with sequins and pearls. The Basque waistline led to a full floor-length skirt with a scalloped edge that swept to a cathedral-length train highlighted with French lace cutouts.

Her headpiece was a pearled tiara.

The bride carried a bouquet of calla lilies.

Ashley Toler of Pikeville was maid of honor.

Steven Ash was the best man.

Groomsmen were Jacquan Turner of Goldsboro, brother of the groom, and Jamel Slater of Raleigh, friend of the groom.

A.J. Slater was the ringbearer.

Joyce Cotton of Pikeville, friend of the bride’s family, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jazmin Turner, sister of the groom. Erin Taylor and Stephanie Ash, friends of the couple, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Thomas Vick, DJ, and Richard Phillips, friend of the bride’s family, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner and dance reception at Lane Tree Golf Club. Kay Bailey, aunt of the bride, cut the cake.

After their wedding trip to the beach, the couple will reside in Pikeville.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower June 5 at Church Alive Ministries in Goldsboro hosted by aunts of the bride and a bridal luncheon June 25 at Texas Steakhouse in Smithfield.

The groom’s father hosted a rehearsal dinner July 1.
