Vasuki - Seymour
Haley McKee Seymour and Vivek Paavan Vasuki exchanged vows June 18 at 5 p.m. June 18 at First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, with the Rev. Dr. Sidney Franklin Batts officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Smith Seymour of Greensboro and the granddaughter of Guy Ventron McKee Jr. and the late Anise Kelly McKee of Mount Olive and Elizabeth Smith Seymour and the late George Frank Seymour of LaGrange.
She is a graduate of Greensboro Day School, Furman University and the Medical University of South Carolina with a master’s degree in physician assistant studies. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority at Furman University, and was presented by the Greensboro Symphony Guild.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nuggehalli T. Vasuki of Summerville, S.C., and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Maley Hally of Summerville and K.S. Nagarathna and the late K.G. Srinivas Murthy of India.
He is a graduate of Academic Magnet High School, Emory University and the Medical University of South Carolina with a doctorate in medicine. He will begin a residency in ophthalmology in Richmond, Va., after completing an intern year in internal medicine in Charlotte this summer.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore her mother’s wedding gown of satin with lace overlay embedded with pearls. It had a fitted bodice, a sweetheart neckline and a cathedral train.
Leigh Carlin Kirby of New York, N.Y., was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Whitney Alexis Marshall of Williamsburg, Va., Megan McLane Shine of Birmingham, Ala., Emily Ryan Ittner of Oakland, Calif., Erin Kathleen Desnoyer and Jamie Lynn Witbeck of Charleston, S.C., friends of the bride.
Dr. Vardhan Vasuki of Charleston, S.C., was his brother’s best man.
Groomsmen were William Smith Seymour Jr. of Greensboro, brother of the bride, and Ankoor Yogesh Shah of Decatur, Ga., Arun Kumar Gupta of Pittsburgh, Pa., Walker Allen Gibson of Charlotte, Dr. John Michael Teal and Dr. Payton Blair Foust of Charleston, S.C., and Badri Gunvant Modi of New Haven, Conn., friends.
Ushers were Eric Vincent Neff of Newport Beach, Calif., Dr. Hiren Nayan Patel of Canton, Mass., Lukman Ismail Ahmed of Westlake, Ohio, and Daniel Seth Eisenman of Bishop, Ga.
Mimi McGinn directed the wedding.
Lauren Blaire Seymour of Snow Hill and Katherine Rose Odgers of Raleigh, cousins of the bride, were greeters.
A program of wedding music was provided by Sarah Elizabeth Odgers of Nashville, Tenn., cousin of the bride, vocalist; Dr. Andrew Clarke Flandry of Charleston, S.C., friend of the couple, guitarist; and a string quartet ensemble led by Wayne Reich, violinist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at historic Blandwood Mansion.
After their wedding trip to Greece, the couple will reside in Charlotte.
A rehearsal dinner was held June 17 at Tyler White Gallery.
Events held before the wedding included a reception with Indian traditions June 4 in Mount Pleasant, S.C., hosted by the groom’s parents.
